Insight into Infants’ Internal Worlds (IIIW) Lab
In the Insight into Infants’ Internal Worlds Lab, we study the development of preverbal and newly-verbal children, and the role of language and communication in the development of other domains. We use typical and symbolic gestures (a.k.a. Infant Signs) as a window into the minds of preverbal children, and examine the effects of these communication tools on the child-caregiver relationship and on caregivers’ insights into children’s minds and behavior.
